Facebook Security Caution - Watch You Personal Info!

All of us whose name does not contain the word "Luddite" are aware that social media are THE killer apps of the decade. We are (or should) be aware that as part of the growth of ones digital footprint, the risk of exposing your personal information to the "not so nice people" become greater.

Our friends over at The Reaganite Republican takes time to make a common sense recommendation regarding Facebook.  I had never thought much about it (and I am hardly a Luddite) but it is far more difficult - nearly impossible without direction - to delete a Facebook account completely - without their assistance. And I did not know about the added security feature added on May 3rd.

Make sure to head over to The Reaganite Republican to view the entire article.

As of May 3, there is a new privacy setting on Facebook called "Instant Personalization Pilot Program" that shares data with non-Facebook websites. It is automatically set to "Allow."

Go to Account > Privacy Settings > Applications and Websites > Instant Personalization, and uncheck "Allow". BTW, if your friends don't do this, they will be sharing information about you and me...
