Flag Day 2010 - LONG MAY SHE WAVE!

On this day we celebrate the Second Continental Congress' adoption of the American Flag.  originally adopted in 1777, Flag Day (always celebrated on Jun 14th) was established by proclamation of Woodrow Wilson in 1916.  In August of 1949, Flag Day became an Act Of Congress.

Only one state celebrates flag day as a state holiday (Pennsylvania).

Today I offer an unofficial look at the American Flag - historically, humorously, "Rule 5-ishly", and with great reverence.  I hope you enjoy, and at the same time stop to remember, what this piece of fabric represents - indeed the fabric of our country.
