Portrait Of An Idiot - Jerry Brown (D-Californistan, via Alpha Centuri)

Yes, I hear the two or three of you who read regularly lamenting "well, that's low-hanging fruit LTB".  And of course, you're correct.

HOWEVER.....

There are 49 other states which may not be so attuned to the veritable whack-job that is Jerry Brown. So in the spirit of information (and amusement) I want to supply some of the more (in)famous quotes from the Lamest Man in California politics - Edmund Gerald "Jerry" "Moonbeam" Brown Jr.

On Meg Whitman:  "You know, by the time she's done with me, two months from now, I'll be a child-molesting..." He let the line trail off. "She'll have people believing whatever she wants about me."

"It's like Goebbels," referring to Hitler's notorious minister of propaganda. "Goebbels invented this kind of propaganda. He took control of the whole world. She wants to be president. That's her ambition, the first woman president. That's what this is all about."

On the role of Government: "The government is becoming the family of last resort."

On litigation as a weapon for Environmentalists:  “This lawsuit is part of a broader effort to realign economic and industrial activity with ecological constraints,”

On prisons:  "Prisons don't rehabilitate, they don't punish, they don't protect, so what the hell do they do?"

On technology:  "I like computers. I like the Internet. It's a tool that can be used. But don't be misled into thinking that these technologies are anything other than aspects of a degenerate economic system."

On corporations:   "Multinational corporations do control. They control the politicians. They control the media. They control the pattern of consumption, entertainment, thinking. They're destroying the planet and laying the foundation for violent outbursts and racial division."

Obligatory WTF?? quote:  “Genetic engineering companies want to create a situation where you have to get permission from a corporation to eat."

Jerry Brown immortalized in song: "California Über Alles" by the Dead Kennedys which is sung from the perspective of Jerry Brown during his tenure as Governor. The song has Brown painting a picture of a hippie-fascist state, satirizing what they considered his mandating of liberal ideas in a fascist manner. (No, it's not sarcasm, it's true!)

So as you can see, Brown take on Meg Whitman is right in line with his thoughts (?) as recorded over decades.  Is it any wonder this state is as screwed up politically as it is?

  1. Hey, Bro:

Massively awesome post, dude. (Sorry, I was just hanging out with some surfer friends of mine.)

I sniped one of the quotes for a follow-up on my site and gave you a plug. But, just sitting back and reading these intently is beyond troubling.

One forgets what a nightmare this fruit-ball was -- and that we almost got his sister as Gov as well.

    Peace, bro'.

  3. Let's not forget a statement he made while being interviewed on the Savage Nation because I sure didn't, "A little state control of the media never hurt anybody." I guess this moonbat never heard of Nazi Germany. If Californians (which I am, but fortunately, I have a brain that works) are stupid enough to elect this moonbat again, then Hell is going to get over run with illegal Californians.
